An equine centre in NSW is seeking an experienced equine veterinarian to join their team prior to the 2025 breeding season in August.
The successful applicant will have responsibility for independent veterinary care on leading thoroughbred stud farms as well as working within a team of ambulatory veterinarians. An interest in sales, yearling, or race track work would be highly beneficial.
The practice is well equipped with multiple ultrasounds, digital radiography, video endoscopy and gastro endoscopy units, and a comprehensive in-house laboratory.
The clients include some excellent and well-managed stud farms in the region, with over 1000 mares under their care and an important yearling sale component. They also service many of the local trainers and pre-trainers in the area and consider themselves very fortunate to have such friendly and successful clients.
– Remuneration would reflect experience and qualifications and would be approximately $200,000 P.A. for right candidate.
– An equipped car would be provided.
– The contract would also cover phone expenses, a generous CPD package, membership fees, and uniforms.
– Four weeks annual paid leave with flexible options for additional unpaid leave and travel.
– Flexible start date prior to 1st August 2025.
– The rota is generally 1-in-2 during the breeding season. During the off-season, it is a 1-in-4 rota and the majority of all out-of-hours call-out fees are payable to the vets.
Sponsorship (work permit) may be available for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
