JOB NO: 220,892MC

A veterinarian is required to join a purpose-built, modern small animal clinic in North East Victoria. The clinic has an experienced and supportive team of vets, nurses, and receptionists who pride themselves on working together and providing a high standard of care to the clients and patients in the local community.

This position is open to new or recent graduates, as well as experienced vets.

The position is full-time with flexibility around working hours.

Being a regional practice, you’ll be exposed to a variety of cases, from routine surgery, preventative care, and dentistry to emergencies, including snakebites, toxicities, and complicated cases requiring work up.

You’ll enjoy a varied small animal caseload which includes extensive work with birds and pocket pets. Mentoring is available to help you develop your skills in exotic animal medicine.

A variety of travelling specialists visit the clinic. This allows you to refer patients while still following their progress from diagnostic workup to the end of treatment.

The clinic is well equipped with digital x-ray, IM3 dental, dental x-ray, IDEXX biochemistry and haematology, Imagyst cytology, in-house laboratory, ultrasound and everything else you could ask for to be an excellent vet. There are separate canine and feline consulting rooms, spacious waiting areas, a dedicated cat ward, and a euthanasia/visiting room.

This position would suit a vet who is positive and capable of working efficiently and conscientiously within a team environment. The small team is very supportive and enjoy learning from each other. They generally work together to manage cases as a veterinary team rather than working alone on individual cases.

The practice is looking for a confident and enthusiastic person with great communication skills and a friendly and positive attitude to work. They want someone who is prepared to take advantage of the opportunities available and be proactive in their development.

Generous salary package including a base salary of $75,000 for new grads + super. Relocation assistance can be provided.

New and recently graduated vets benefit from a Graduate Development Program. The practice recognizes that the transition to practice can be a challenging time. This program includes monthly structured support through the Lincoln Institute, a mentor program and a ‘grad retreat’ which provides practical seminars and workshops to help fast track your skills.

On offer is:

– VSB Registration and memberships supported;

– VetEducation membership;

– 5 days paid volunteer leave;

– Wellness Day – An extra paid annual leave day!

– Paid parental leave in addition to the government scheme;

– 1 week study leave;

– Generous CPD allowances depending on your development plans;

– Wellbeing initiatives;

– Various discounts;

– And more!

This practice also offers industry-leading internal training as well as genuine support for your career progression. There are considerable opportunities for training, personal development, and progression.

The practice is located in a regional city in North-Eastern Victoria. The area has great food, wine, waterways and weather. With lakes, museums, a shopping centre and more, there are many ways to spend your spare time!
