Are you looking for a practice without targets where lifestyle is key and where vets are free to work on their own cases? A practice with a loyal client base who are respectful and understanding of what you do because they've been coming to you for years?

If so, you're in luck, as this practice is hiring!

A modern practice based in the affluent area of Hawke's Bay is recruiting for an experienced companion animal veterinarian to join their team. They offer a full range of services, including onsite Idexx blood testing, digital radiography, dental X-ray and ultrasound.

You would be joining a team of three full-time vets, two part-time vets, and nine vet nurses. As one of the few independent clinics left, they are happy to create a role for you with part-time and full-time on offer. You can build this role around your lifestyle.

This practice doesn't cut corners. They have an experienced team working in a relaxed, friendly environment together, doing what is right for the patient and practice.

You can expect a varied caseload with a good mix of consults and surgery, owning your cases and seeing them through. No production line consults here. 15-minute consults are standard, with extra time allowed for more complicated cases.

The employer doesn't believe in working their team into the ground. They want you well-rested and refreshed so you can be at your best. They will endeavour to be flexible and accommodating with time off.

The role involves 7.5-hour days, an hour for lunch with time blocked off in your diary for your own hospital patients and phone calls/procedures.

This position includes rostered weekends (1 in 4 to 1 in 5) and on-call work. After-hours services are shared with two other local clinics.

This practice is offering a salary of $90,000 to - $130,000 per annum (negotiable, dependent on experience). All vet fees are paid for. For after-hours work, vets receive half of any professional fees charged (consult, surgery time, etc.). The employer will also look at helping with airfares for the right candidate.

The area is known for its wineries and surf beaches, combining its semi-rural charm with an amazing coastline. It is the perfect place to allow you to choose whether you would like to be a city dweller or enjoy rural life!
