Are you an equine vet with an interest and experience in reproduction? Are you looking for a new role in a supportive and flexible learning environment?

An exciting opportunity is available for an equine vet to join a well-equipped, equine-only ambulatory practice based in North Yorkshire. The practice consists of a dynamic team of 6 vets and 7 support staff.

There is a varied caseload of sport and racehorses as well as leisure horses. This is a fully equipped practice with state-of-the-art wireless digital radiography, a variety of scanners, multiple videoscopes, a gastroscope, shockwave machine and multiple mechanical dental systems.

The role is tailored to a dynamic and talented equine vet who will manage and expand the practices’ reproductive caseload, as well as service other varied ambulatory clients. Experience and/or a keen interest in advanced reproductive techniques such as OPU and Embryo Transfer is desirable, though not essential. Thorough and supportive training will be provided in these areas.

The out-of-hours can be varied to suit the individual. The practice runs a stud rota during the season to share the OOH responsibilities. Half of the OOH is serviced by EquiCall, with the rest of the year’s rota being 1:12, with the Friday following a weekend off as a lieu day.

What’s on offer:

– 2 weeks holiday (inclusive of bank holidays, but not including extra days holiday during the Christmas period)

– £1,750 CPD allowance, plus additional BEVA congress attendance

– Certificate or other further qualifications supported

– RCVS, BVA, ARVS, or membership of other professional bodies covered

– Vehicle can be provided (salary sacrifice scheme)

– Discounted horse and pet care across VP practices

– Mobile phone

Located just under an hour from Leeds and 30 minutes from York, the practice is surrounded by idyllic countryside and historic buildings. The area boasts a stunning national park and hiking trails just a few miles south-east. Public transport links are easily accessible.
