A farm animal practice near the city of York is looking for a vet to join their team. The right candidate will be friendly and enthusiastic, and confident with OOH and obsterical work.

This is a well-established beef and sheep practice, with a high obstetrical and surgical caseload. Clinical freedom is encouraged, and support is always available to develop skills and interests. The team is keen on case discussion and collaborative approaches.

OOH is shared equally on a 1:6 rota – the team double-up in spring, with second on call paid. Time in lieu is given for any weekends worked. The region has 4 yearly TB testing, and the practice share product exports amongst the team.

Value added services include advanced fertility (bull and ram semen testing, cattle and sheep ET, laparoscopic AI for sheep), FECPAK G2 for in house worm egg counts, and Vet tech services.

The team are progressive, supportive, and friendly. They have a range of interests and specialities that work well to create a service they are proud of. Outside of work, they like to go for picnics and BBQs, as well as playing or watching sports together.

Generous CPD allowance is provided with support for postgraduate qualifications. Good holidays with the option to buy more. RCVS, VDS, BCVA paid. Company vehicle, phone and laptop are supplied. The practice are also Tier 2 Visa providers.

Based close to the beautiful city of York, the coast, Wolds and Moors are within easy reach. Vets can choose to live outside or in the city, making it easy to have both an urban and country life depending on interests.
