RARE opportunity in South East Queensland!

A position in a privately owned practice has become available with a highly experienced team who enjoys mentoring and practicing gold-standard medicine. The vets that run the practice own the practice.

This is a team with over 100+ years of combined clinical experience (including multiple surgery and medical members and an acupuncturist) and 30 years of running very successful veterinary businesses.

Comments from the practice owners:

We really enjoy what we do and who we work with. That means we come to work, all contribute evenly, do a great job and go home. This ensures our loved ones don’t miss out, and we don’t either! Simple. No noise, no drama, no stories. We have great systems and even better coffee!

The team practices team-based consulting, and each member has a clearly defined role within the clinic. The practice sees loyal clients who have the means to work up cases.

The team partake in a morning and afternoon meeting for clear lines of communication in conjunction with a well-defined client communication protocol throughout the day.

This practice believes being a vet should not be that hard! Your veterinary day should also be simple and rewarding most of the time, and when it is not, there is a process for that.

The right applicant will have a dedicated nurse helping you for the day – no late history writing at the end of the day or wasting time trying to find a nurse! Bills/medications/discharge summaries and safely handling patients are all part of the service! This allows you to get on with your duties as a vet. A team leader is always present to help organise the day and coordinate team members and patient care.

The skilled nursing team can take bloods, place catheters, take x-rays, anaesthetise under supervision and scale and polish teeth. When cases get hard, the appropriate mentor will go through the case and provide support and feedback to help with an action plan and client communication strategies.

Supervision and assistance are available for procedures not done before or lack confidence in, so you can continually up-skill, e.g. CSF taps, chest drains, pericardial effusion drainage, advanced wound closure, etc.

The vets at the practice are able to perform many procedures in-house, including orthopaedic procedures – TPLO down to 3kg/MPL/fracture repair, as well as most advanced soft tissue surgeries, including brachiocephalic airway surgery, skin flaps, liver lobectomy, gall bladder removal etc.

The team are able to provide support for patients after hours and transfer unstable patients for monitoring to the nearby after-hours referral, which is just 20 minutes from the practice.

Equipment at the practice includes ultrasound, full in-house IDEXX, digital x-ray, large separate surgical suite, IM3 dental, dental x-ray and separate dental area.

The practice will aid with relocation costs and 3 months’ FREE accommodation to help you settle in.

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.

There are profit share and equity buy-in opportunities available to the right applicant, if desired.

The practice is open from 7:30 am – 5:30 pm on weekdays and from 8 am – 12 pm on Saturdays. No on-call work is required.

The practice is nestled in the southeast Queensland hinterland, within reach of Brisbane City and the Sunshine Coast, but tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Many city people come out on the weekends as the area is known for its natural beauty and café culture with cyclists, horse riders, hikers and motorbike riders all enjoying the township. It is just 35 minutes to surfing, paddle boarding, amazing snorkelling and whale watching. There are also local sports clubs for those keen to get involved in the community, including soccer, rugby, AFL football and cricket.
