A veterinarian is required to join a friendly, multi-vet practice in Darwin! Both new graduates and experienced vets are welcome to apply.

There is a team of seven full-time vets working across two locations. Vets are supported by reliable, qualified nursing staff and a practice manager. Everyone is easy to get along with, providing a happy and fun work environment.

The hospital is affiliated with the Northern Territory Police Dog Unit, Department of Corrections Dog Squad, Military Police, Emergency Detection Dogs, Greyhound Rehoming Association, Top End re-homing, and the local wildlife organisation. They regularly deal with wildlife cases.

Three specialists regularly visit the practice. These include an ophthalmologist, a dermatologist and a surgeon. Special interests are encouraged. Continuing education is encouraged and supported.

For a full-time role, the vet will work four shifts per week. This will include some Saturday shifts. The clinic shares after-hours with other local practices. After-hours will average one night on call per fortnight.

Short term accommodation is likely to be available.

The clinic is purpose-built and includes a separate intensive care wildlife ward, isolation ward, and operating theatre. It is well-equipped with digital x-ray, iM3 Dental System, video endoscope, Mylab5 Ultrasound, in-house IDEXX, Vet Test and Vetlyte laboratory, Surgivet pulse oximetry, Tonopen and ECG. The clinic is fully computerised with Customer Logic software.

Applicants should have excellent communication skills, exceptional attention to patient care and the ability to work well in a team.

Darwin is a vibrant, growing capital city with a tropical climate that allows a relaxed lifestyle and outdoor activity all year round. The clinic is close to eateries, shops and parks.
