A permanent part-time position is available for a small animal veterinarian to join a well-established practice in a beautiful northern coastal suburb of Brisbane. The clinic is a short walk from the water in a lovely location that offers a relaxed and family-friendly lifestyle.

About the practice:

This is a busy, independently owned, long-established practice with a loyal and rapidly growing customer base and wonderful team members who provide day-to-day clinical peer support. Their ethos is to provide practical, professional and balanced care for their patients and clients as well as ensuring that you enjoy what you do. The employers are there to help you in the areas where you would like to learn, and to help you achieve the best possible care for your patients.

The team pride themselves on providing a premium level of service, as they don't want the clients or the team to feel rushed and offer 20-minute consults. They take the time to get to know the families and the pets and to make them feel comfortable and welcome in their practice. They have a lovely client base who want what's best for their pets and are generally happy to work up cases properly, accept specialist referrals when required and focus on keeping their pet healthy rather than waiting until they are too sick.

The employer is looking for a new team member who can work within the practice and is comfortable with providing routine general practice medical and surgical duties. They are a close-knit team and always treat each other with mutual respect and kindness and promote an environment of continued training and education.

You will work with a very capable nursing and support team who can do almost everything, including blood draws, catheterisation, and x-rays. Clinic equipment includes digital routine x-rays, new ultrasound, in-house IDEXX biochemistry and urine analysis machines.

Benefits/Conditions:

- Professional development: $1000 allocated to CPD after 12 months of employment.

- Rotating roster averaging 32-34 hours per week (negotiable) with a shared rotating Saturday roster, including the same 1 day off per week (roster is very flexible).

- Clinic hours are 8 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, and 9 am to 12 pm on Saturdays.

- No after-hours, public holidays or Sundays, all emergencies are referred to nearby hospitals.

- There are currently 3 lovely nurses supporting the veterinary team.

- Flexibility that accommodates your family commitments and the clinic's requirements.

- NO KPIs - The employer trusts their vets to use their own judgement to treat patients and their families to the best of their ability.

What the employer is looking for:

- The main requirement is that you are positive and friendly and make an effort to work with the team.

- Some shifts will be sole charge, so you must be reasonably comfortable consulting on your own.

- Excellent organisational and time management skills, including high attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks within a busy work schedule.

- Flexibility and adaptability.

- Demonstrated ability to work well & multi-task.

- Maintain appropriate certificates as required to continue professional development.

- Excellent communication (verbal and written).

- Someone who sees a long-term future with the clinic and wants to grow with them.
