Looking for a change in scenery? Is city life getting too busy? Do you want to raise a family in a friendly, opportunity-filled country town environment?

If you are seeking the country lifestyle with small or mixed animal veterinary work, this might be the role for you!

The teams sees a mix of small animals, including cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, wildlife and large animals; horses, cattle, sheep & goats. However, the practice is happy to accommodate those wanting to work in a 100% small animal role.

Services offered include equine reproduction, cattle, sheep and goat herd health, plus international export of livestock, as well as a broad array of small animal medicine and surgical cases, including but not limited to reptiles, birds and native wildlife. The practice is also involved in community desexing programs with the RSPCA.

There is a great opportunity to work up difficult medical and surgical cases in-house; however, referring to specialist hospitals is also an option. The team value good communication and often work up cases together.

Vets work alongside incredible support staff with a wide variety of experience and skills. Nurses are well-trained, supportive and capable of working in teams and independently.

The role will involve working a 4-day week with a dedicated day off. For special occasions, it can be arranged to occur on a Friday for a long weekend. The on-call load is light and is shared as 1:3/1:4.

The team is like a family, with work/life balance and mental health prioritised. The employers understand those with family commitments and the chaos that goes along with parenting. As such, they are flexible with school pickups and sick children. They aim to keep vets in the industry, and that means a work/life balance that is flexible and supportive!

The team value good communication and often work up cases together. The team wants new team members to feel comfortable and fit in well with the clinic family. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, friendly and happy to communicate.

The practice is a locally owned family business and would suit those looking for support and encouragement from the ground level, where you will be working side-by-side with the owners.

The team try and engage in a communal lunch on Thursdays, which offers the chance for all staff to catch up, debrief and socialise.

All interests are catered to at this genuine mixed practice. Vets are provided with a continuing education allowance. There are regular reviews at 3, 6 and 12 months, allowing vets to give the practice feedback so they can help with any areas of improvement.

Facilities are continually updated, and the clinic is well-equipped with digital radiology, in-house blood machines, large and small animal ultrasounds, Reproscan, equine endoscope and an equine power float.

The practice is located in a historic town in central New South Wales. It is home to magnificent heritage buildings, a stunning natural environment and unique local attractions. The beautiful Lake and natural lagoon offer great walking and cycle tracks. There is a rich sporting community with thoroughbred and standardbred racing, rugby union, rugby league, netball, cricket, touch, swimming, and ranch sorting, amongst countless others. It is located just one hour from Orange, three hours from Canberra and five hours from Sydney. For those with families, there are childcare centres, daycares and schooling options in the area.
