Would you like to work in an engaging, fun and supportive workplace?

Would you like the ability to work up complex cases but refer when needed?

A great opportunity has become available to join a progressive, experienced 3-vet team in northern New South Wales. The team strives to provide better than just-GP care. Working at this practice will provide exposure to an excellent caseload.

Both experienced vets and new graduates are welcome to apply. The practice owner will support new grads both in the clinic and out of hours (when ready).

The practice is purpose-built and sees mostly small animals and some exotics and pocket pets. Vets are supported by excellent nurses who are intuitive, competent and long-term staff members. They pride themselves in their work and regularly engage in CE supported by the clinic.

The practice holds ISFM Cat-Friendly Accreditation, and multiple staff members have Fear Free Accreditation. The practice owner has memberships in Veterinary Behaviour and has a special interest in reconstructive surgery and medicine. Other strengths include dentistry and ECC.

This role has the flexibility to be full or part-time. The clinic is open 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, and 9 am to 12 pm on Saturdays. There is time allocated at the end of each shift for notes and phone calls.

The clinic has separate dog and cat consultation rooms and wards, a large treatment area with multiple treatment benches and wet bench. The imaging room has the usual PPE as well as a lead screen. Dog and cat isolation rooms are also available.

Equipment at the practice includes:

- Full in-house pathology (chemistry, haematology, endocrine, clotting/typing, blood-gas, urinalysis).

- DR Wireless Xray with software integration and cloud storage

- Ultrasound

- Dental X Ray (great for exotics and orthopaedics as well!)

- IM3 dental machine with exotic dental equipment

- Full anaesthetic monitoring with ETCO2, ECG, SPO2, temp, etc. (nurse attached for every anaesthetic)

- Electrosurgical unit and suction for those tricky soft tissue surgeries

- Orthopaedic equipment for plating, ex-fix and TPLOs (planning software as well)

- Endoscope with videoscope attachment for high foreign body retrieval (rigid scopes coming soon!)

- Ventilators for open-chest surgeries, tick paralysis or snake bite paralysis cases

- Tonometer

- Double surgery room with separate scrub area

- Fluid pumps and syringe drivers for fluids and CRI's.

This position offers the opportunity to live and work in a great regional town. The town has a strong educational, sporting and cultural community. Housing is affordable, and the region boasts a range of world-class cafes, restaurants and wineries, along with a number of national parks, rivers, gorges, waterfalls and abundant wildlife. It is also only a short drive from the coast, a perfect opportunity for a weekend at the beach.
