An opportunity is available for a mixed practice veterinarian at a progressive rural clinic in country Queensland.
This role would suit a vet who enjoys genuine variety, is confident with routine small animal consultations and surgery, and is ready to take on a meaningful role in a close-knit rural community with strong support around them.
You will be joining a progressive 6-vet mixed animal practice with a broad and loyal client base and a true mixed caseload. The role offers a mix of 60% large animal and 40% small animal work.
The varied caseload includes small animal consults and surgery, cattle work, calvings, equine dentals and a wide range of rural practice cases. The team is happy to tailor the caseload to suit your interests and strengths and there is a strong focus on reproduction, including AI, TCI, embryo transfer and canine, equine and bovine breeding work.
The practice has a warm, team-first culture where support, humour, communication and clinical curiosity are valued. You will have access to genuine mentorship and collaboration from an experienced team, regular team and vet meetings, clinical case discussions and training sessions. The clinic also has in-house examiners who are keen to help upskill vets in BULLCHECK and PREGCHECK, with the current vets accredited in these areas.
Vets have their own fully equipped farm service vehicle. The practice itself is very well equipped with in-house diagnostics including Imagyst Cytology, multiple species-specific ultrasounds, digital X-rays, an equine gastroscope, IM3 dental equipment, in-house orthopaedics, power floats, a mobile vet crush, Lane’s pulsators, phase contrast microscopes and an androscope. The team also embraces AI and smart tools to help streamline workflows and reduce pressure where possible.
The position is full-time, four days per week. The employers offer flexible rostering and are serious about helping prevent burnout.
This role offers a competitive salary well above award, relocation support, flexible rostering and a genuine respect for work-life balance. Ongoing professional development is also supported, including AVA membership, encouragement of SIG membership and one week of conference leave per year.
The local area offers a relaxed rural lifestyle. The region is known for its agricultural industries, natural resources and country lifestyle. The wider area includes scenic river country, national parks, lookouts, heritage sites, local produce and small-town community life, making it a rewarding place for someone who enjoys space, practical rural work and a strong sense of connection.
