Specialist Surgeon (Veterinary) in Melbourne - 220,515LH2

A new multidisciplinary, state-of-the-art 24/7 veterinary hospital in a desirable inner suburb of Melbourne requires a specialist surgeon to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be a registered small animal specialist surgeon who has achieved DACVS/DECVS or FANZCVS qualification. The employer is also open to hearing from registrars who have completed their residency training. Applicants should enjoy team collaboration and have a high level of commitment to improving patient outcomes and client experiences.

Both full and part-time roles are on offer. Equity partnership would be considered for the right individual.

The practice has a strong focus on in-house education to assist career progression. You will have opportunities to develop advanced clinical, business administration, and teaching skills. A candidate keen to contribute to the future development of the profession through developing and delivering training programs to veterinary students, veterinarians and residents would be welcomed. The employer is supportive of hybrid roles, which include clinical work, teaching and research.

The hospital is well-equipped, with facilities including eight consulting rooms, three theatres (positive pressure/HEPA filtered), a dedicated intensive care unit, Siemens fluoroscopy and 64 slice Siemens CT. There is room for future expansion and plans to install an MRI. There is also a large, spacious undercover car park.

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.

A board certified surgeon can expect a salary of between $280,000 - $300,000 per annum.
