A leading state-of-the-art equine clinic is seeking a veterinarian to assist their dedicated veterinary team for the upcoming breeding season.
This position is for the 2025/2026 stud season. August 2025 – January 2026.

A deep understanding of reproductive health and neonatal care is crucial, along with flexibility and the ability to meet the seasonal demands of the position.
Key responsibilities of the role:
– Primary Veterinary Management of large broodmare farms. Working closely with clients to develop and implement breeding programs.
– Conduct reproductive evaluations (ultrasound exams, diagnostic tests, etc.) to manage breeding and reproductive cycles for mares.
– Provide expert advice on breeding management
– May include some artificial insemination and embryo transfer.
– Assist with foaling and post-foaling care for mares and foals.
– Participate in the clinic’s on-call roster for emergency and routine care.
Qualifications and Experience:
– Degree in Veterinary Science/Medicine, with full qualification eligible to practice in Queensland, Australia.
– At least 5 seasons of experience in equine reproduction, with expertise in thoroughbred mare breeding, foetal twin reduction, placental scanning/monitoring, etc.
– Valid driver’s license.
– Strong independent work ethic with good time management skills.
– A strong passion for stud medicine and thoroughbred racing is preferred.
– A client-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
– Passion for equine reproduction and high-standard veterinary care.
The practice is located in southeast Queensland. It is a well-established practice that serves a wide range of equine clients, specialising in large thoroughbred studs, sport horses, and companion horses.
The team offer a comprehensive suite of services, including surgery, ultrasound, wireless digital x-ray, lameness evaluations, endoscopy, dentistry, reproduction, and laboratory services. The surgical team handles a large number of general anaesthetic surgeries annually, covering various specialties. The practice also provides 24/7 emergency and routine ambulatory care. The advanced reproduction facility offers artificial insemination, embryo transfer, semen collection, and evaluation.
