Are you seeking a caseload of small animals and exotics? Enjoy a 50/50 mix! A great opportunity has arisen for a vet to work at a practice in Sydney's Inner West.

The team see an enormous variety of domestic pets, from cats and dogs to rabbits, parrots, pythons, fish, and dragons, plus lots of wildlife. No two days are the same!

Want to work with exotics but haven't had much exposure? The employer encourages vets with dog and cat only experience to apply. Love consults but hate surgery? Easy! The caseload can be tailored to suit. Experience with EzyVet & Smartflow desirable but not essential.

As a wildlife-friendly clinic, the team provide a high level of care to wildlife patients and is always looking for fellow wildlife enthusiasts to join the team. This role would be perfect for someone keen to learn more about wildlife, as vets are regularly performing interesting surgeries and procedures on wildlife.

This role will see you work within a multi-vet team supported by a practice manager and an amazing team of very experienced nurses to assist with daily tasks, including taking notes/histories for consults.

Vets interested in working one or two days a week in a permanent part-time role or on a casual basis are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates who are able to work rotating weekends. Some sole charge required (usually a couple of hours at the end of a shift); however, there is support from experienced nurses.

The ideal candidate will be environmentally focused and should strive to provide gold standards of care for all patients. Applicants should have high attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to build good rapport.

There is a surrender over euthanasia policy that encourages owners to surrender their pet if they are considering euthanasia for a treatable condition. Through this, the team have proudly and successfully treated and rehomed many pets.

More about the role:

- Longer consults (ranging from 30 minutes to 1 hour)

- Excellent work-life balance

- Bring your pet to work policy!

- Paid lunch breaks

- Training once a week (case dependent)

The practice is well-equipped, including x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, video (rigid) endoscope & digital otoscope and a variety of in-house pathology equipment, including an iSTAT blood gas machine. They are environmentally focused and, as such, are a paperless practice.

The hospital is conveniently based in inner west Sydney, just across the road from a beautiful walking track, eateries and more!
