A rapidly growing clinic in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges is seeking a part-time vet to work Friday (8 am to 6 pm) and every third Saturday (9 am to 1 pm).
This is a permanent position, however, applicants available for a six-month contract while in Australia on a working holiday visa are encouraged to apply.
You can choose a 100% small animal or mixed practice role. The clinic services 95% small animals and 5% farm animals such as sheep, goats, ponies and horses.
This position is suited to a vet with at least one year’s experience. You must be confident with routine consultations and basic surgeries such as desexings, lumpectomies and dentals.
Mentoring is available and if you would like the support to learn more complex surgical procedures, including emergency surgeries, these can be taught and supervised by the lead vet. There is also a visiting orthopaedic surgeon who is very supportive and great to learn from.
In addition, the practice has a visiting medical specialist and ultrasonographer. They are well-equipped with in-house Idexx blood machines, the latest wireless Radincon x-ray, GE ultrasound and IM3 dental facilities, along with ezyvet software that is accessible from home.
There are separate canine and feline hospitalisation rooms and waiting areas to reduce stress for patients and clients. The team prides themselves on providing the best care for every pet.
Perks of the role include:
– No after hours or on call work
– Lunch breaks are enforced
– Long appointment times (Work ups aren’t rushed if the team can help it!)
– A very supportive team of experienced nurses
– A mentor vet with over 14 years of experience
– A sister clinic with a team of vets and nurses that can be called at any time
– Well above award pay
– Ongoing education support with study leave & a generous CPD allowance
– A beautiful location surrounded by nature
The practice is located in a beautiful area east of Melbourne, within a 50-minute drive from the CBD. There are daily bus services into the city.
