A friendly practice located in a beautiful city in South Australia is on the lookout for an enthusiastic new graduate to join their team!

This position has the flexibility to be either 100% small animal or mixed with up to 15% equine, wildlife and exotics, if desired. The practice regularly sees kangaroos, wombats, lizards, birds, snakes, guinea pigs, and rabbits. Outreach clinics and support work throughout the far north and west of the state also contributes to the current workload.

This position will see you supported by a team of dedicated and enthusiastic staff. They pride themselves on their reliable, friendly, professional and welcoming service, as well as being prepared to try new ideas and concepts.

The clinic is open from 8:30 am until 5 pm, Monday to Friday, and 8:30 am until 11 am on Saturdays. They are closed on Sundays and public holidays, and after-hours are shared. As a new graduate, there would be no after-hours or sole charge until ready, and there is always support available!

The practice sees a wide range of cases and offers a unique and total approach to pet care. As a new or recent graduate, this is a great opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in surgical and medical cases.

The practice is modern and fully equipped with in-house blood machine, digital x-ray, dental unit, plating equipment, a new laser unit and high-end ultrasound.

There is a strong focus on preventative medicine and the building of long-term relationships in the care for clients and their pets. A sense of humour and the ability to have fun is also a must!

This position offers a great working environment where you can build ongoing relationships with a far-reaching, diverse client base. AVA Membership provided. The practice is committed to your career development through access to continued education, support and ongoing mentorship.

Feedback from a 2017 graduate who started at the practice in January 2018 and is still working there: I have been at the practice since graduation. Everyone is really friendly and supportive. I didn't start doing on-call work until I was ready, and when I did, there was plenty of support and backup. The nurses are super helpful too. As referral is not feasible or an option for some clients, the practice sees a varied and interesting caseload, with good exposure to lots of different surgeries. There is a good community spirit in the town, with lots of social sports teams to join, including netball, volleyball, cricket and basketball.

Located in a beautiful part of South Australia, the area offers all the conveniences and facilities expected from a modern city, while maintaining the sense of closeness you would expect in a rural location. It is situated on quiet waterways and in close proximity to the spectacular Flinders Ranges.
