A position has become available at a family-owned and operated clinic just north of Melbourne. The friendly and supportive team have been providing high-quality and personalised veterinary care for over 40 years.
Both experienced veterinarians and new graduates are welcome to apply. The successful applicant will be very well supported, working alongside a very experienced principal vet, 2 experienced part-time vets, 6 nurses and two junior nurses.
Their ideal candidate would have some mixed practice experience, though they would certainly consider an experienced vet with a small animal focus or the right new graduate who is keen to learn and provide a great service to their clients. The existing vets are all experienced and comfortable mentoring new graduates.
The employers pride themselves on providing a good work-life balance for their staff. The successful applicant can choose the hours that they work. The roster will be built around your availability. Those seeking to work school hours are encouraged to apply. Full-time hours are preferred. However, part-time will be considered for the right candidate. A full-time role will involve working a 4-day week. 1 in 3 weekends will be on call as well as a share in the weekday after hours. Clinic hours are 9am – 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am -12pm on Saturday.
This is a well-equipped clinic with IDEXX in-house pathology, digital x-ray, ultrasound, Vision software, IM3 dental equipment and a surgery equipped with modern anaesthesia and monitoring equipment. The practice also has a mobile clinic that services the local scenic countryside providing clients with routine veterinary care without them having to leave their homes.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake small animal medicine and surgery. In addition, there is the opportunity to undertake large animal work. This is mainly beef cattle with the occasional sheep, alpaca and goat client. The practice does not see any equine patients.
This is an opportunity to enjoy a varied caseload with good exposure to both medicine and surgery (soft tissue/routine). The mix can be tailored to suit the successful applicant.

The practice is located within one and a half hours of Melbourne, close to the Goulburn River and is a popular area for a range of outdoor activities, including horse riding, bushwalking, four-wheel driving, fishing and rock climbing. The town is home to many restaurants and historic buildings and is close to wineries.
