A rare opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic veterinarian to join a 20-vet practice in rural North Yorkshire. This is an independently owned, RCVS accredited practice.

This position offers a very varied mix of work, and to a degree the role can be tailored to accommodate an individual's areas of enthusiasm on a daily basis. It is important that you are happy to deal with all species out of hours.

The practice has a large and expanding farm client base, with regular routine fertility visits and herd health planning for both cattle and sheep.

There is an excellent, friendly, experienced veterinary team - regular in-house clinical meetings are held. They have high calibre support staff including qualified RVNs.

The practice has recently built a brand new small animal surgery with excellent small animal facilities (2-vet and 1-nurse consulting rooms, separate large operating theatre, large prep room, separate room for radiography and ultrasound scanning, isolation room, and separate cat and dog kennels).

The equipment list includes in-house biochemistry, critical care analyser, endoscopes, digital radiography (both also used for horse work), ECG, dental radiography and ultrasonography.

The duty rota includes first and second calls and is shared evenly between 12 vets. There is also a nurse on duty out of hours, allowing for good support in an emergency.

Located in a small market town close to York, the practice is surrounded by spectacular countryside yet is close to main roads and rail networks.
