Are you after flexibility in your work and career? Come and join this awesome team in beautiful South West Victoria!

A diverse, well-equipped mixed practice in regional Victoria is seeking a veterinarian to join the team.

You will be working within a large team of vets with small animal, large animal and mixed practice experience, supported by a strong team of qualified and registered veterinary nurses and trainees. The team enjoy a 1:2 vet-to-support staff ratio. They pride themselves on working collaboratively, being approachable and sharing resources and skills.

The position would suit a mixed animal veterinarian, but there is scope for a predominantly small animal role as well. The practice treats companion animals as well as sheep and cattle. There is the opportunity to see pocket pets, wildlife and equine, depending on your interests.

The position can be full or part-time. A full time role is an attractive four-day week, with an extra day off following a rostered weekend if desired. Flexible working hours are offered. After-hours are shared with 1 night a week and 1 weekend in 5 on call. All calls go through the vet triage team, which means the nurses take the calls and only ring you if needed and once a deposit has been taken. Large animal after-hours are only until 8:30 pm.

You will do well in this role if you enjoy the challenge of general practice and are comfortable going from vaccinations to working up more complex cases to routine surgery while gaining new knowledge and skills about a range of species. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills with both clients and colleagues, a willingness to work as part of a team and a positive can-do attitude to enhance patient care and client experience.

Recent graduates and experienced vets are welcome to apply. Vets who have been out of the workforce for a while but are keen to return are also welcome to apply and find the flexibility they require for their work-life balance.

On offer for the successful candidate:

– Base salary (plus super) depends on your skills and experience however, a vet with over 3 years’ mixed experience can expect upwards of $100,000
