A practice on New Zealand's North Island is looking for a veterinarian to join their friendly, close-knit team. This is a full-time, mixed practice position with a shared after-hours roster.
You will see a diverse caseload with a complete mixture of sheep, beef cattle, dairy, and a variety of companion animal work. There is a high percentage of working dog cases, which will allow you to be exposed to and manage exciting surgical and medical cases.
Key responsibilities:
- Bring clients on the journey to improve their animal and farm performance and commit to providing value-adding services to the farmers.

- Contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace culture where every team member thrives.
You will have access to the latest technology in this well-equipped practice. The clinic houses a digital x-ray machine, in-house biochemistry and electrolyte analyser, and the ability to perform Ossability TTA surgery in-house. From a large animal perspective, the team considers their loyal and friendly farmers a major asset and a draw card for any new applicant.
Some benefits of this role are:
- Competitive salary and benefits package - they work with remuneration experts to ensure their pay is competitive and in line with remuneration movements in the industry.
- Opportunities for professional development and mentorship.
- CPD plus study leave - so you can follow your veterinary passions!
- Discounts on wellness benefits for your pets.
- Birthday Leave: Happy birthday! All permanent team members celebrate their way with an extra day off on your birthday.
- An in-house health and wellbeing programme - to support you in taking care of all facets of your wellbeing - at work, home, and beyond.
The practice is located on the North Island of New Zealand in a small rural town. With waterways in every direction, it's a popular trout fishing and hunting destination. In winter, the town is a cost-effective place to stay if you aim to ski. The area is also popular with cyclists.
