A mixed practitioner is required to join a practice in a picturesque rural environment. The role will be predominantly dairy, with a small amount of companion animals, equine, deer, sheep and cattle.
There are 16 mixed and companion animal vets employed between 5 branches.
About the role:
- Work closely in partnership with farmers to look after some of their most important assets.
- Work and possibly live in a welcoming and thriving rural community.
- Thrive in a mixed, predominantly dairy practice (90% of total workload) - with companion animals, equine, deer, sheep, and cattle to maintain general expertise and interest.
- Work with dairy herd sizes between 180 - 1200 cows and benefit from greater vet/herd owner contact.
- Enjoy a dynamic, cooperative, and appreciative client base.
- Feel supported in a non-corporate clinic environment.
- Access approachable experienced vets for help and support, with referral practices readily available.
This is a permanent full-time position. You will join a flexible working rotation throughout the year, with little after-hours caseload when on-call, as well as time off in lieu of weekends worked. You will be given the opportunity to discuss options that would provide flexibility, lifestyle, and work-life balance.
The successful candidate will receive an attractive employment package, along with an upfront relocation or benefits package and a fully equipped branded practice vehicle.
Special interests and CPD are encouraged, internally or post-grad). The employer values your input into how the clinic is run.
The practice is located in a rural town off the beaten track in the Bay of Plenty. The beautiful rural town offers a close-knit and friendly community, and great spots for trout fishing, hunting and tramping. It is within commuting distance of the larger regional towns, both of which offer excellent services, restaurants, bars, shopping, and recreational pursuits.
