Are you a mixed animal veterinarian with experience in sheep, beef and equine practice and a handy companion animal skill set looking for your next adventure?

A practice in Central Otago is looking for an amazing generalist vet to join their busy and welcoming team, where every day is an opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of animals.

This is a full-time role (minimum 32 hours per week, plus rostered Saturday and on-call rotation). The on-call roster is structured to ensure a balance between work and personal life, with weekends on-call generally once every five weeks or less.

As a mixed animal veterinarian, the successful applicant will have the responsibility of supporting the LA team, delivering exceptional service to the Otago farming community while assisting the growing equine ambulatory service and providing excellence in care to their clients.

This role would suit a vet who is passionate about animals and brings:

– New Zealand Veterinary Council Registration and Annual Practicing Certificate (or equivalency enabling registration).

– A Bachelor of Veterinary Science with 3+ years of experience in Mixed Animal Practice.

– A clinical skill set including surgery and consulting with an ability and willingness to undertake sole charge as and when required.

– A warm, approachable personality that makes both customers and colleagues feel valued and supported.

– Exceptional communication skills, ensuring smooth collaboration with the team and clarity for pet parents.

– A strong sense of compassion and empathy, treating every patient as if they were your own.
