A fantastic opportunity has become available for a veterinarian to join an NZVA BESTPractice Accredited Clinic in the Bay of Plenty region.
The local, family-owned clinic prides itself on having a highly skilled and engaged team who strive for excellence in every aspect.
The practice services companion animal, large animal, lifestyle and equine clients. The position would ideally be 70% mixed lifestyle, 20% dairy, 10% companion animal or 100% large animal. Large animal consists of lifestyle, dairy, sheep and beef.
The employers are seeking an enthusiastic, friendly and professional mixed practitioner or large animal veterinarian to join the team. This position is full-time with a shared on-call roster amongst a large team of mixed practice vets.
You will be working with a dedicated mentor at the practice with over 30 years of experience in production, mixed and companion animal medicine. Vets are supported by the practice’s mental health and wellbeing programmes, social club, and fantastic team members who love to have fun whilst practicing at a high standard.
The successful applicant will have:
– General large animal medicine skills suitable for small farms and lifestyle animals
– Excellent general small animal surgical and medical skills
– Ideally, two years of clinical experience (all applicants considered)
– Enthusiasm and passion for the veterinary profession.
The clinic provides in-house point of care diagnostics (CBC, biochemistry and imagyst) and is equipped with digital X-ray, dental X-ray and ultrasonography, all within purpose-built facilities. The practice accepts a variety of medical and surgical referrals from other practices, such as radioactive iodine treatment. The team has access to CT, MRI services and referral imaging interpretation.
Located under 3 hours from Auckland, the area varies greatly in landscapes, offering brilliant views of the magnificent Bay of Plenty coastline, complete with its beaches and off-shore islands.
