Are you seeking a truly mixed practice? Do you see yourself becoming part of a supportive team with an employer that supports you to pursue your clinical interests? Look no further!

An exciting full time position has become available for a vet to join a genuinely mixed practice!

The practice has recently changed ownership but remains locally and privately owned. The employers are focused on developing a well-supported, cohesive team with a focus on practicing the highest quality of veterinary care, with satisfied staff with a good work/life balance!

Both experienced vets and new/recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

The caseload is truly mixed with 60% small animal and 40% large animal work (25% equine, 15% cattle/sheep/goat/alpaca). The small animal work is varied and stimulating, including general medicine and a vast range of surgeries. The large animal work ranges from first opinion calls to reproduction work, farm accreditation and equine dentistry. The caseload is a great opportunity for new graduates wanting to develop their skills in their first veterinary role, as well as experienced vets looking to further expand their mixed practice skillset!

The role will see the vet working in a full time capacity. The after-hours are shared 1:4.

The ideal candidate will:

- Be driven to grow their skills within a mixed practice

- Have sound skills in small animal medicine and surgery

- Enjoy the challenge of a varied caseload

- Be passionate about client care and communication

- Be committed to practicing high levels of veterinary care

- Pursue best practice and exceptional clinical standards of care in all settings

- Have the desire to become part of a supportive, friendly and professional team

- Be dedicated to continuous professional development

- Be keen to pursue their special interests

Vets at the practice are supported by a dedicated team of trained support staff who are available to assist both in practice and in the field.

The salary is negotiable, and vets will receive an after-hours percentage and a generous CPD allowance on top of their base salary.

Sponsorship (work permit) available for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible to register with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of South Australia.

The clinic is purpose-built, operates with Rx works software and is fully equipped with CR X-Ray in house, portable DR Xray for the field, new Mindray Ultrasound, full IDEXX in house laboratory (procyte, catalyst, coags, blood gases, SNAP Pro, urinalysis), ECG, IM3 dental unit, dental X-Ray, power float equine dental kit, petMAP, infusion pumps and more. The owners are investing in quality equipment to support best practice care.

The practice is located just 45 minutes from Adelaide, in a rapidly developing town with a great community spirit. The area has the best of all worlds; city, country and the coast! Enjoy monthly markets, local wineries, eateries, sporting clubs, and endless outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, camping, horse riding and more!
