A well-established practice in Northern Sydney is looking for a new vet to lead their close-knit, multi-vet, experienced team.
This role will see you work with a team of passionate and dedicated vets, nurses, support staff and a practice manager, who all help and support each other when needed. The team pride themselves on providing a high level of service as well as a family-friendly environment where clients and patients feel comfortable and supported.
The team see a range of interesting and challenging cases. The caseload is mostly small animal with some pocket pets and wildlife. Vets at the practice have a wide range of interests, from routine procedures and dentals to complex soft tissue surgeries, including nares and soft palate surgeries and orthopaedics.
The ideal candidate will possess the drive to develop, coach and motivate the team. Formal business education/training and/or proven experience as a clinical supervisor or lead vet are highly desired but not essential.

Duties and responsibilities:
– Develop, approve and maintain veterinary standards of care
– Provide leadership by overseeing and managing the team with regard to policies, performance and procedures.
– Conduct annual staff performance evaluations
– Ensure the overall business and hospital services comply with all regulatory requirements
– Ensure the hospital meets KPI targets and yearly budget
– Manage and monitor hospital compliance with legal guidelines, internal policies, and quality standards
– Identify and drive continuous education for the veterinary team
– Ensure the hospital is meeting all WHS regulations
The state-of-the-art purpose-built hospital is newly renovated and offers a variety of up-to-date medical services. Equipment includes digital x-ray, CT machine, Class IV Laser, dental x-ray, ultrasound and more.
The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
