A privately owned practice in a beautiful part of Queensland is seeking an experienced vet to join the team in a lead role.

Enjoy a 4-day week, no after hours and working with vets who have passed membership exams in both medicine and surgery.

The practice will provide assistance with relocation costs and 3 months’ FREE accommodation.

There are profit share and equity buy-in opportunities available to the right applicant if desired.

The role will see the Lead Vet practicing excellent veterinary care within a tight and trusted team of six vets (3 full time equivalent). Two of the vets have memberships in medicine and one in surgery. Vets are supported by skilled veterinary nurses and a dedicated receptionist.

The ideal candidate will be motivated and driven. The team carry out complex soft-tissue and orthopaedic surgery such as TPLOs, MPLs, oncology surgery and more. The practice owner is happy to provide mentorship in this area if desired.

The practice is open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm on weekdays and from 8 am to 12 pm on Saturdays. No on-call work is required. The successful applicant can expect to work a 4-day week, offering excellent work/life balance.

Equipment at the practice includes ultrasound, full in-house IDEXX, digital x-ray, large separate surgical suite, IM3 dental, dental x-ray and separate dental area.

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.

The practice is nestled in the southeast Queensland hinterland, within reach of Brisbane City and the Sunshine Coast, but tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The town has a thriving art scene, an array of nice cafes, craft shops, antique stores and historical buildings. There are various local sporting clubs and opportunities for horse riding and camping. The Brisbane airport can be reached in less than an hour.
