This hospital has been locally operated for over half a century and is an important part of the local community. They have a great team of vets and nurses and a loyal client base.
The team aims to provide a high standard of medical and surgical knowledge and treatment to their patients in a friendly, compassionate hospital environment. Vets at the practice have special interests in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, avian medicine, alternative therapies and rehab therapy. The team receives referrals in these fields.
The employers are looking for a vet who is ready for the next stage in their career and is ready to lead and mentor their team. This is a full-time position with a four-day work week. There are no after-hours requirements.
The ideal candidate will want to work hands-on in clinic to hone their skills. They will be focused on furthering their vet career by taking the initiative in learning from the experienced team and the practice’s large and varied caseload. You will be interested in and excited about managing a team of veterinary professionals using the leadership development opportunities provided. An opportunity to improve your orthopaedic surgical skills under the tuition of an experienced vet is offered.
As lead vet, you will work closely with the clinic coordinator and the business team in the day-to-day running of the clinic. You will be a member of the management team responsible for the professional management of all clinical operations. Clinical operations include managing, training and supervising veterinary associates, graduates and nursing staff, as well as being hands-on in the delivery of veterinary services to patients and clients according to the practice’s high standards of care.
