Seeking a role that offers:

- $80,000-$150,000 salary package (commensurate with experience)?

- Flexible rostering to suit your needs?

- A high nurse-to-vet ratio?

- Team consulting?

A forward-thinking, progressive, ASAVA Accredited hospital in regional Victoria is seeking a full time or part time vet to join the team.

The employer welcomes applications from both experienced vets and new/recent graduates.

The team has nurtured many new graduates successfully. The team has the patience, time and teaching skills to ensure a new graduate flourishes in their first role. The experienced vets and qualified nurses are well-versed in mentoring new vets and love to teach.

The regional location of the practice offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to grow and expand your veterinary skillset. This role allows the opportunity to grow your experience in quality preventative care, routine surgery (and more complex surgery if desired), emergency work including snakebites and grass seeds galore, as well as the chance to work up complicated cases. There is the option for referral when needed.

The successful applicant will work alongside a team of five vets, seven qualified nurses, four student nurses and three dedicated receptionists/admin staff. The team believes in collaboration and loves to bounce cases around at weekly meetings. They practice team consulting. As such, vets are supported in every consult.

Vets at the practice benefit from the following:

- Generous after-hours remuneration

- Getting paid an hourly rate for every hour you work (no unpaid overtime!)

- Relocation assistance

Paid staff training takes place weekly. This afternoon of training gives the team a chance to catch up on the week, plan and continue professional development together.

After-hours is shared (1:8 weekends) with a neighbouring clinic. After hours is supported by a trained triage team, ensuring calls are filtered and deposits taken.

The hospital is fitted out with all the toys, including in-house IDEXX lab, digital DR radiography and ultrasound, dentistry equipment including dental radiography, multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring, endoscopy, video otoscopy, tonometry, electrocautery and more!

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.

Some additional benefits include a wellness day (an extra day of paid annual leave!), paid parental leave, genuine support for CE, five days of paid volunteer leave, AVA membership and VSB registration, subscriptions to VIN, CVE, Plumbs App and access to an online library and more!

The clinic is located in a large regional centre in Western Victoria. It is approximately three hours from Melbourne and 4.5 hours from Adelaide. The town has art festivals, musical performances, an art gallery, major sporting events and family-friendly activities. There are also many recreational clubs, restaurants, schools, parks and gardens. For the outdoor types, there are lakes and popular rock-climbing areas located nearby, as well as some of Victoria's most beautiful national parks and wineries.
