The practice has loyal, friendly, long-standing clients.

The successful applicant will enjoy a very varied caseload, and there are good opportunities to work up medicine cases. A very experienced surgeon visits, when required, for complex procedures. Although, if you would prefer to do complex surgeries yourself, that is definitely possible! Vets at the practice are supported by four nurses.

The mix of work at the practice is approximately 50% large animal and 50% small animal. The successful applicant can choose to work in a true mixed capacity or focus on either small animal or farm work.

The successful applicant will be required to participate in the after-hours roster, which includes one in three nights on call per week. The after-hours load is generally light.

Work permit (sponsorship) considered for suitable candidates from overseas if required. Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible to register with the Veterinary Surgeons' Board of Tasmania.

The well-equipped clinic houses a VetScan blood machine, good small animal ultrasound and two large animal ultrasounds, dental machine and dental x-ray, infusion pumps/fluid warmers, full monitoring equipment for anaesthetics and brand new orthopaedic kit with cordless drill. The practice is fully computerised with off-site access.

There are partnership prospects for the right person if desired.

To top it all off, you will be working in a beautiful coastal location, close to beaches, rainforests and national parks, including Cradle Mountain-Lake Saint Clair National Park.
