Work Visa Support

LOCATION: Southland Region, New Zealand

TYPE OF WORK: 100% Companion Animal

HOURS: Full Time

SALARY: Negotiable

JOB NO: 210,894SB2

A position has become available for a veterinarian to join the team at a practice in the Southland region of New Zealand.

This is a 100% companion animal role within a truly mixed practice.

The companion animal clinic is fully equipped with all the mod cons, including in-house bloods, digital radiographs and ultrasound.

This is an opportunity to join a broad-minded and enthusiastic multi-vet team who are happy to cater for individual’s specific interests.

Benefits of the role include 5 weeks’ annual leave.

Partnership prospects available, if desired.

The practice is located in an area rich in wildlife, art and history, with plenty of character and a warm and friendly atmosphere. There is an excellent range of shops, lively bars and restaurants to enjoy.

Comments from a current employee (Melbourne 2021 grad):

I joined the practice just over 12 months ago as a new graduate. Originally from Australia, but having lived in NZ, I wanted to experience mixed practice in a clinic that offered both support and the variety that comes with more rural areas. This practice is perfect for both.

There are so many opportunities to learn different skills and develop your own interests. There is always someone around to ask a question if needed. Being in a smaller city, specialist referral is often not an option, so you get to have a go at so many different things. The large animal side of the practice varies with the time of year, but we have lots of different types of clients. The majority of work is dairy, but we also see sheep, beef, deer and lifestyle blocks to keep things interesting.

The team here is great, from the front of house staff to the amazingly experienced nurses and the supportive senior vets. I would highly recommend coming to visit and see for yourself.
