A leading state-of-the-art veterinary clinic is seeking an equine vet/mixed practitioner to join their team.

Both new/recent graduates and experienced vets are encouraged to apply.

The position will involve predominantly equine (85%) cases, with the remainder being production animals (10%) and small animal (5%).

The practice is well established and has grown to be one of the largest providers of equine veterinary services in Queensland. The team see a diverse clientele ranging from prestigious thoroughbred studs to pleasure horses, high-performance horses, dairy and beef farms, and even companion animals (if it aligns with your interests).

There is the opportunity to broaden your skillset with support from other highly experienced vets. The practice has a highly skilled team that maintains a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Duties include a full range of responsibilities, including ambulatory callouts, medicine, lameness and minor surgeries. During the breeding season, there is a focus on equine reproduction (natural, AI and ET).

The surgical team handles a substantial caseload and are supported by two registered equine surgeons who are skilled in orthopaedics, ophthalmology, colic, reproduction, respiratory, gastrointestinal issues, and more. The team also see referrals for surgical and other complex cases.

The role would suit an enthusiastic team player who loves their patients and has empathy and respect for their clients.

Equipment at the practice includes digital x-ray, ultrasound machines, respiratory endoscope, gastroscope, arthroscope, laparoscope, ligasure, laser, dental powerfloat, in-house haematology and biochemistry analysers, ensuring you have all the tools required to excel as a vet!

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
