Are you looking for a mixed practice on the Queensland coast?

Are you looking to expand your knowledge within an experienced team that focuses on mentoring and training?

Whether you are an ambitious new graduate looking to kickstart your career or an experienced vet contemplating a fresh start, this could be the opportunity you have been searching for!

New graduates will have the chance to learn, grow and make a meaningful impact as part of a supportive, experienced team.

This independently owned practice is seeking to expand its team. New graduates who enjoy working in a fast-paced practice with lots of variety are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will be someone who is a true team player, is passionate about what they do and keen to jump into the huge variety of work that this practice provides.

The employer places emphasis on training and mentorship, creating a truly excellent work environment.

The practice employs staff members who are committed to caring for their patients and their owners. Growth is a key factor in what they do, both personally and professionally. The practice owners invest in staff members to ensure they continue in their veterinary careers. Vets are encouraged to have a special interest so that they continue to learn and grow. Current special interests include reproduction, greyhound medicine and internal medicine.

Duties will include consultations, small animal medicine, routine small animal surgery, equine and beef cattle medicine and reproduction.

Vets are supported by nurses who play an integral role within the team. They are encouraged to continue to learn and provide exceptional care for both small and large animal patients.

The practice offers a full suite of services for small animals, from medicine consulting to surgery, advanced anaesthetics, x-rays, ultrasounds and blood machines. They offer routine surgeries such as speys, through to more advanced brachycephalic airway surgery as well as orthopaedics.

Central Queensland is the beef capital of Australia. The team offer their beef cattle clients the standard herd health investigations, disease investigation, bull testing and preg testing, as well as those 2 am calvings! The equine clientele also receives exceptional service from the team, including ultrasound, x-ray, stitch ups and everything in between.

Family and community are at the heart of everything this team do. The employers ensure their practice is not just exceptional in client care but also in fostering a vibrant, supportive team environment. They offer tailored opportunities that fit your lifestyle and needs, creating a holistic and enriching experience for both you and the practice.

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.

Picture yourself with the choice of exploring expansive acres or relaxing by the stunning Southern Great Barrier Reef in your free time. The area features the best of both worlds – beautiful country living and the stunning Queensland coast less than an hour away. The practice is located just outside a great regional city in Central Queensland that is big enough to have plenty to do but small enough to still be a friendly country town.
