An exciting leadership opportunity has become available for a small animal vet at an award-winning veterinary hospital with state-of-the-art facilities.

The successful applicant will work alongside a friendly team of vets and nurses with a mix of experience and skills who enjoy a collaborative work environment. There is an experienced veterinary surgeon in clinic with two dedicated days for referral surgery, including orthopaedics.

As lead vet you will practice hands on veterinary medicine and surgery, as well as being involved in managing, training and supervising veterinary associates, graduates and nursing staff.

The team practises gold standard medicine and sees a varied and interesting caseload, with the opportunity to see everything from complex medical cases to emergencies!

This is a full time position (four days per week) with shared on-call (until 10 pm only with the support of a dedicated after-hours triage team to filter calls).

The ideal candidate will be an experienced vet with a strong interest in medicine and the desire to practice to a high standard. Applicants should have good leadership skills and the drive to continuously improve and work as part of a great team that collaborates on cases.

The clinic is well equipped with in-house laboratory, full x-ray and ultrasound facilities, modern surgical theatre, and advanced monitoring equipment.

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
