A permanent position has become available at an urban practice in the Manawatu-Wanganui region of New Zealand’s North Island.
This role provides the opportunity to advance to a lead vet position for those interested.
This is a full-time role in a two vet, six vet nurse team.
The workload is almost solely companion animals, but you can spice things up with a few backyard and lifestyle block livestock patients to keep life interesting. This includes dairy, beef and sheep. The practice has a strong involvement in sports medicine and canine reproduction.
If surgery is your forte, you are welcome to discuss a 100% surgery role with the employer. Otherwise, the position will entail a mix of surgery and consults.

The ideal applicant will:
– Have 2+ years of experience.
– Have excellent communication skills and empathy to build strong relationships with clients and your work colleagues.
– Have a passion for your profession and a ‘can do’ problem-solving attitude.
– Be a team player who is organised, self-motivated, resilient, and willing to take themselves to new heights.
– Must be (or be eligible to be) registered with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand.
