A veterinarian is required to work at this privately owned, well-established practice in Tyne and Wear, in the North East of England.

Both experienced vets and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

The practice employs 18 vets over 8 branches. However, for client continuity, the successful applicant will be based at just one branch.

The successful applicant will enjoy working in a supportive, encouraging environment. The team pride themselves on providing top quality, modern medicine and surgery.

This is a mixed practice role with a small animal bias. The caseload is made up of 85% small animals, 10% equine and 5% farm animals.

This position is full-time, 5 days per week with the option to reduce to 4 days after one year with the practice. Part-time hours are negotiable but would ideally be at least 2 full days per week plus the below weekend rota cover.

The successful applicant will be required to assist with the OOH rota, involving one night on call per week (with another vet). There will also be one full weekend in every six, to be worked. For every full weekend, there is no night on call the following week, and a Monday or Friday off, to make it a long weekend. One Saturday morning in three. These will be part of the full weekend on-call (1:6).

The practices are well-equipped with ultrasound, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, endoscopy, ECG, pulse oximeter, infusion pumps, syringe driver, blood pressure machine, tono-pen, oxygen generator, and in-house lab.

Tyne and Wear is 10 minutes from Newcastle City Centre, which is a great area for shopping & excellent nightlife. It is only 20 minutes from the countryside and 30 minutes to beautiful beaches. Newcastle International Airport is only 15 minutes, which allows for easy access to other parts of Europe.
