Are you a new graduate looking to gain experience over a broad spectrum of work, and be supported and encouraged all the way?

The successful vet can choose to work in a mixed practice or 100% companion animal capacity.

This is a truly mixed practice with a large dairy client base. Other large animal patients range from deer, sheep, alpacas and pigs, to chickens, donkeys and goats.

The companion animal clinic is fully equipped with all the mod cons, including in-house bloods, digital radiographs and ultrasound.

This is an opportunity to join a broad-minded and enthusiastic team who are happy to cater for individual's specific interests.

The practice is located in an area rich in wildlife, art and history, with plenty of character and a warm and friendly atmosphere. There is an excellent range of shops, lively bars and restaurants to enjoy.

Comments from a current employee: I love it here. I currently rotate and spend one week working in the small animal clinic and the next week in the large animal clinic. The clinic is well set up, and there is a dedicated Practice Manager who manages HR. The clinic can be very busy. There is a mix of senior vets and recent graduates. There is a good deal of experience in the clinic, and everyone is approachable. The support has been really good. When I started, I didn't do any after hours. I worked mainly in surgery or doing large animal calls with another vet. New graduates start after hours when they feel comfortable and confident to do so, usually at around three months. There is always someone to call if you need assistance when doing after hours. Talking to my peers, I feel very fortunate. It is a good work environment, with good support. I haven't been thrown in the deep end. I really enjoy the town. It is a great small community that is very welcoming. There are loads of people of a similar age and a lot who are not originally from here. I have been exposed to a broad range of species. Continuing education and special interests are encouraged and supported.
