A practice in Hong Kong, owned by an Australian vet, is currently recruiting for a night veterinarian to join the team.

The current team includes 3.5 vets, 14 vet assistants/vet techs (all of whom have completed or are undergoing AIRC program/diploma vet nursing), 2 support staff, and a clinic manager. One of the vets at the practice has their memberships in internal medicine.

The clinic sees a high caseload this consists of 90% small animals and 10% exotics. The work is challenging but also very rewarding. The clientele are loyal and highly compliant. The hospital's culture values personal wellbeing and personal growth over KPIs. Everyone works as a team and has a tight-knit relationship.

The list of toys includes Vamigo vet specific CT scanner - capable of high definition volumetric imaging, fluoroscopy, panorama dental X-ray, rigid and flexible endoscope and separate dental unit. In-house diagnostics include full range IDEXX procyte, two catalyst machine, two SNAP reader, blood gas, coag, two bio note VCheck, and of course DR X-ray, ultrasound with 1 cardiac and 3 abdominal probes.

The hospital has two dirty procedure areas, two sterile surgical theatres, separate dog and cat waiting areas and wards for silver category cat-friendly accreditation.

There is also centralized oxygen, an isolation ward, hydrotherapy (underwater treadmill) performed by vet physio diploma nurses, LLLT, acupuncture, and rehab services.

The roster will involve working 50 hours per week for day shifts (10 hour days) and 42 hours per week for overnight shifts. Night shifts alternate between three or four 12-hour shifts per week.

All vets are entitled to a personal turnover bonus, which is payable quarterly by a computer generated revenue report for total transparency. Salary package includes relocation allowance , visa sponsorship, and spouse visa if required.

The successful applicant will also receive 20 days paid annual leave plus 12 days statutory holidays.

The employer is prepared to assist with a work visa if required.
