An exciting opportunity has become available to join an exceptional team of veterinarians and vet nurses in a small animal practice in picturesque Tasmania as a hospital director. The successful applicant will enjoy a fun and rewarding career with a great work-life balance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the profitable operation of the clinic and its achievement of KPI targets and budget objectives.

The successful applicant will also ensure regulatory compliance of the hospital and develop and maintain a high level of veterinary standards of care. The role includes management, mentorship and development of all hospital team members and continuing to foster a nurturing environment of positive teamwork within the clinic.

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.

Full time staff work a 4 day week (with a set day off) and 1 in 3 to 4 Saturdays (9 am to 2 pm). The practice offers 4 weeks of annual leave and 1 week of paid study leave with travel/registration allowance. There is no after-hours work required. Days are structured and focused on work-life balance, so finishing on time is the expected normal.

The successful applicant will lead a team of eight veterinarians. The hospital is well equipped and has a high support staff ratio, with nurses in consult to assist the veterinarians.

The hospital offers a wide range of surgical and medical services. There is a good client base.

The employer actively encourages and supports ongoing education.
