A privately owned practice in north Queensland is looking for a new/recent graduate or an experienced vet with a passion for mixed practice to fill their current vacancy.

This is a mixed practice position encompassing mainly small animals, dairy and beef with some equine. The mix of work is somewhat flexible. There can be up to 50% cattle work.

The role will see the successful applicant working alongside a team of vets and experienced nurses. They care for one another like family and love to celebrate each other's wins.

A typical day at the practice may consist of:

- Routine and first opinion small animal consultations such as vaccinations, skin conditions, health checks, ear/eye consultations, lameness, snake bites, tick paralysis and other emergency presentations.

- Routine small animal surgery, including wound treatments, dentistry, lump removals and desexings.

- Ambulatory equine farm visits, including vaccinations, dentistry, ophthalmic conditions, stitch-ups, colic management and other first opinion visits.'

- Ambulatory cattle farm visits, including sick cows, calvings, routine surgeries, lame cows, pregnancy testing and other emergency visits.

This is a large practice, and the successful applicant will work with 4 or 5 other vets.

The clinic is fully equipped with a surgical theatre, induction box, hoist, horse crush, stables, day yards, digital x-ray, ultrasound, a cattle handling facility, in-house haematology and biochemistry, tonometry, endoscopy and much more!

A new graduate will be provided with in-house training and mentorship from senior veterinarians. Vets at the practice hold a wide range of postgraduate qualifications, including Memberships, Masters and PhDs.
