A multi-site practice in southeast Queensland is looking for another vet to join the team.

They can offer you plenty of support from their incredible lead veterinarians and experienced nursing team.

Both new/recent graduates and experienced vets are welcome to apply.

About the position:

- Small animal only role, predominantly based at the main surgery

- Full time position in an attractive four-day week, with an extra day off following a rostered weekend

- Shared after-hours with 1 night a week and 1 weekend in 6 on-call (Vet nurses take the calls and only ring you if needed, and the deposit has been taken!)

- Support always from experienced vets and a strong nursing team in a well-equipped clinic

About you:

- A vet who enjoys the challenge of general practice; comfortable going from vaccinations, to working up more complex cases, to routine surgery

- Excellent communication skills with both clients and colleagues and willingness to work as part of a team

- Positive 'can-do' attitude who offers excellent patient care and client experience

You will be joining a well-known and long-established vet surgery that is well-respected in the community. The team consists of six vets with varying levels of experience. The senior vets hold an ANZCVS membership in surgery and a postgraduate qualification in Emergency and Critical Care. They pride themselves on working collaboratively, being approachable, and they love discussing cases.

Remuneration is dependent on skills and experience however, a recent graduate can expect upwards of $80,000 per annum plus super. There are plenty of additional benefits that come with working at this practice. Some of these include paid AVA membership, VSB registration, paid parental leave, an additional day of leave per year, genuine support for CE, paid volunteer leave, various retail, travel and service discounts, plus lots more.

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.

This well-equipped clinic has all of the usual toys, including digital radiology (diagnostic and dental), ultrasound, a full in-house laboratory suite (including IDEXX, Procyte, Catalyst, iStat, Sedivue, Imagyst and coags), monitoring equipment and TonoVet.

The area offers excellent educational and recreational facilities. There is beautiful colonial architecture, outstanding museums, over twenty parks and sporting grounds, and beautiful beaches nearby. There are a lot of horses in the area for those interested in riding, plus all the usual sporting facilities. The weather is perfect year-round, and you can drive to the beach in 30 minutes.
