JOB NO: 210,806SB2

An experienced large animal veterinarian is required to fill a permanent position at a mixed practice. There is also a Lead Vet role available for the right applicant.

On offer is a realistic roster pattern, time off when you have worked on-call, and you will be paid when you are called out.

Full-time hours available. The practice shares their on-call duties with other clinics, so you will only be rostered 1:6 weekends.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to progress into a leadership position or continue to grow within your current skill set by learning from industry leaders.

You will be working with a dedicated and supportive team that takes the standard of care to the next level. You will enjoy providing the same level of care to a variety of clients, including dairy farmers, sheep, beef and lifestyle clients. You will also have the option to lean into companion animal work if this is of interest.

Benefits of the role include:

– Standard and special interest CPD plus study leave

– Enjoy benefits like paid birthday leave, no standdown for sick leave & a generous staff discount policy

– Generous after-hours policy including time off in lieu and being paid when called out

– Visa sponsorship (work permit) & assistance with a relocation package

– Paid New Zealand Veterinary Association membership and APC

– Well-equipped new model ute for use during work

The practice is located on the outer fringes of Christchurch. This area has all the benefits of the city while living and working in a rural setting. As the clinic is located at the gateway to the South Island, the successful vet will have access to many outdoor activities throughout the year, including year-round activities like hiking, tramping, biking, skiing and fishing. This area is an ideal place for families, with great schools and amenities in the area.
