A well-established, independent practice in South Lincolnshire has an opportunity for a GP veterinarian to join the team!
The employer is happy to consider vets at all levels of their career. New graduates are welcome to apply!
You will be joining the friendly, supportive team while maintaining their high standards of patient and client care. There would be an experienced vet available to give help and support for the on-call duties if needed.
The current team includes three partners who are all working as full-time clinical vets alongside four permanent associate vets and an amazing team of RVNs and support staff. There is a wealth of experience among the vets, and they are all very supportive and happy to discuss cases with colleagues.
Vets at the practice are allowed clinical freedom, and the employers do not set targets.
This position is full-time. However, a part-time role can be up for discussion (this would still involve some out-of-hours work to enable it to be fair on the existing team). There is a mix of early and late shifts shared fairly between the vets, with a mix of consulting days and surgical time days. You will have set days off to allow planning of your personal life.
The team do their own out-of-hours work in a 1:6 rota. The successful applicant will be required to take part in this side of the practice’s workload. This will enable the practice to provide this service for their clients while also sharing the out-of-hours work to improve the work/life balance for the vet team. When on-call, a nurse is also on-call with you and is available to come to help as needed.
Benefits of the role include:
– Salary according to experience, with another 5% of the salary contributed by the employer into our employee pension plan.
– 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
– 10 days of sick pay at full pay per annum, unused days carried over to the next year to a maximum allowance of 30 days per annum.
– 5 days CPD allowance paid for.
– BSAVA & VDS memberships paid.
– Mileage 45p per mile tax-free (for travel costs when on call)
– Accommodation can be provided locally if required (private semi-detached house).
This is a busy general practice that also has an orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery referral service. The practice sees a wide range of medical and surgical cases on a daily basis in their first opinion work, alongside the important routine preventative veterinary care they provide.
The clinic is equipped with its own in-house IDEXX blood machines, digital x-ray developer, modern ultrasound machine, Robovet computer system and, most importantly, amazing nurses and support staff.
This is a single-site practice with no branch surgeries. The clinic is located in a rural village with good local schools and amenities.
