A full or part-time position has become available at a practice in Adelaide's northern suburbs.

This 100% small animal role is open to both experienced veterinarians and new/recent graduates. Less experienced vets will be well-supported by a team of experienced vets.

The practice offers orthopaedics, advanced soft tissue surgeries, and routine procedures. They also have access to specialists as needed, both in-house and referral hospitals. Their vision statement is 'affordable and quality care'.

The current six-vet team of vets have a varied range of interests, including reproduction, BOAS corrective surgeries, ophthalmics (incl. conjunctival grafts, meibomian gland repair, entropion etc), orthopaedics, medicine, behaviour, and exotics.

This knowledgeable, approachable team pride themselves on being supportive of each other. They aim to balance their days with regular food incentives and staff bonding days outside of work. Busy days at the practice require the team to work as a cohesive, efficient unit.

The clinic is open seven days a week and offers 24-hour emergency service. The clinic is well-equipped with extensive in-house laboratories, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscope, pulse oximetry, pet MAP, modern dental units, dental radiographs, and intravenous fluid pumps. There are separate cat and dog wards and an isolation ward. Reproduction comprises a significant part of the workload, and the practice is a Sires on Ice clinic.

Vets generally work a full weekend every second week with an RDO off weekly. There are usually five vets rostered on a Saturday and four on a Sunday.

To be successful in this role, you will have the desire to grow and develop your knowledge and skillset while consistently aiming to practice high standards of care in order to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Benefits of the role include:

- Above award remuneration, commensurate with experience

- Annual VSBSA registration costs and radiation licence costs covered

- 1-week study leave plus one conference cost covered (arrangement by negotiation)

- Access to CVE for CPD opportunities

- Access to VIN

- Assistance with VISAs and relocation if required

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.

This progressive practice is situated on the outskirts of the vibrant city of Adelaide. Close to beaches, parks, shops and restaurants, it is 40 minutes north of the CBD and 30 minutes from the beautiful Barossa Valley.
