An exciting new opportunity has become available to co-lead a talented and highly collaborative team, bringing your clinical expertise to the forefront of feline veterinary medicine to help take this 100% feline clinic to the next level as they continue to grow and expand their services.

The clinic has all the tools and the environment for you to be the best clinician you can be, and, building on their track record of successful growth, they are looking for a Deputy Clinical Director to help shape their next chapter. With a balance of commercial, client and team leadership, well-managed caseloads, a great culture and a focus on and commitment to work-life balance, this newly-created role marks a significant milestone in their journey and a great career opportunity for you!

They have a vibrant, international and diverse team and are passionate that bringing your whole self to work will make it a great experience for you and will build a great team. As they expand their services and bring on new team members, their aspiration to be a centre of clinical excellence is well on track.

ABOUT THE CLINIC:

The clinic is independent, purpose-built and gold standard. They are about to celebrate their 5th birthday and have nearly 5000 registered patients, which brings an interesting and varied caseload, being a mixture of fun first opinion work, a significant number of interesting and challenging second opinions and an increasing referral caseload.

In the months and years ahead, the pressure will be on for the clinic to live up to its reputation and ensure a consistent and brilliant experience for cats and their carers, day or night, whether from a vet, a nurse or a front-of-house colleague. Critical to its success is the open, honest and transparent relationships they have as a team - they understand everyone is different and celebrate this, support each other, bringing past experiences and new ideas together in an impactful way. All team members are valued equally, and one of their core values is that the 'whole is greater than the sum of its parts'.

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

Given the clinics continued growth and high aspirations, the time is right to strengthen the Senior Leadership Team with the appointment of a friendly, professional and experienced Deputy Clinical Director.

The Clinical Director, to whom this role reports and for whom you will deputise, will increasingly focus on a referral caseload, as well as clinical teaching, staff development and shaping the overall future strategy and ethos of the practice, its commercial and cultural success. The Practice Manager and the Head Nurse will continue to report to the Clinical Director alongside this role newly created role of Deputy Clinical Director.

What success looks like in this role covers four main areas, but as this is a new role, they are happy to shape its content based on your own experiences and unique perspectives.

A clinical leader and advocate for excellence in feline medicine.

As a senior veterinarian, ideally, with a post-graduate qualification in feline medicine or small animal medicine (or working towards one), you will be skilled in internal medicine as you will have an interesting and varied caseload of your own to manage. Experience with ultrasound, endoscopy or cardiology and knowing your way around a cat's abdomen would be great but is not essential, and training will be provided. You will also be responsible for bringing a progressive view of clinical standards to support the veterinary team's professional development, co-lead clinical review meetings, and help shape clinical protocols for future success as a centre of clinical excellence. Experience as a Clinical Instruction Mentor would be valuable but not essential.

The clinic has a wide range of equipment available, including:

- Flexible and rigid endoscopes/otoscopes

- Mini-laparoscopy kit

- Digital X-ray / Dental X-ray

- Ultrasound with multi-frequency curvilinear, linear and phased array probes for abdominal and thoracic/cardiac imaging.

An inspiring and empathetic people leader.

With a growing team of skilled clinicians reporting to you, you will bring a leadership flair to motivate, inspire and encourage vets. With day-to-day line management of the team (currently 8 vets), they will look to you to provide clinical support and coaching, as well as broader support for their professional development and pastoral care. Through team meetings and regular check-ins, you will drive and be actively involved in building a great team that works brilliantly together, leveraging the strengths of each team member for the greater good of the practice and its clients. You will lead veterinary team recruitment as it expands the day and night service. They will look to you to seamlessly integrate the day and night teams, ensuring great collaboration and consistently high clinical standards.

An enabler of great professional practices to support growth.

The practice is looking for someone who can play a lead role in shaping the development of the practice as part of the Senior Leadership Team. You will help use technology to maximise productivity. You will develop, deploy and sustain protocols, processes, practices and standards that enhance patient care and deliver a great experience for carers. You will help put excellent clinical care and personalised customer journeys at the heart of what they do, based on maintaining consistently high standards. You will play a key role in the continued commercial success of the practice, co-shaping out charging protocols, and ensuring charging is transparent and consistently applied. You will bring a change management mindset to help grow the business profitably and integrate any new services.

ABOUT YOU:

A love of felines is essential, and they want colleagues who are passionate about what they do and will treat patients, team members and owners with the same care and attention that they would like to be treated.

You will be a self-confident clinician, able to make decisions independently and work collegiately. With previous leadership experience, the clinic is looking for empathy and engagement in equal measure alongside the gravitas and drive to truly deputise for the Clinical Director and help co-create the clinics future.

Staff at the clinic take their transparency and trust with their clients equally seriously as their colleagues. Being open about what's working well and what needs to be done differently is fundamental to their success. So, sharing these values is really important. They want your voice to be heard and have regular Open Ears sessions to hear ideas and feedback and get to know each other better. They want you to play a key role in shaping this culture, listening, contributing and leading.

An excellent range of benefits and a rewards package that includes:
