A great opportunity has become available for an equine veterinarian at a practice situated on the coast in South West Victoria.

You will be working with an experienced team of equine vets offering dedicated equine veterinary services across the southwest and at the purpose-built clinic. The practice caters for horses across all disciplines, from the racetrack to the family pony including pleasure horses, competition and pony club mounts.

Duties will also involve a full range of equine ambulatory responsibilities, including medicine, lameness exams and workups, surgeries such as stitch-ups and castrations, wound management, dentals, eye exams, health and husbandry advice, race meetings and reproduction work during the breeding season.

The practice is seeking an experienced veterinarian with a minimum of five years’ experience in the equine field, including previous racehorse experience. The employer will also consider applications from confident post-internship equine veterinarians with racehorse experience.

This is a full-time 100% equine position offered as either a four-day work week or a nine-day fortnight. After-hours is shared 1:5 amongst the team
