A 100% equine GP position is available for a new or recent graduate in the beautiful northern tablelands of NSW. The practice is ambulatory and clinic-based, including a repro centre and basic hospital.

On any given day, you could be on the road tackling anything and everything that equine general practice throws up; routine procedures, dentistry, medicine, field surgery, reproduction, lameness, emergencies and everything else. Patients are mostly thoroughbreds and performance horses, with a smattering of pleasure horses thrown in.

The clinic offers a full suite of reproduction services, hospitalisation, including for neonates, and standing surgery. Equipment includes DR, portable ultrasound, portable crush, video endoscopy, IRAP, in-house bloods, etc. The team have a significant number of resident mares during the breeding season.

You will be provided with as much or as little support as you require, and pursuit of any area of special interest is strongly encouraged.

On offer is a fantastic lifestyle that isn't possible in many other equine jobs - agistment for personal horses can be provided, as can the use of the fully sanded arena and round yard.

Flexible hours during the off-season can be negotiated, including four-day weeks in Winter and Autumn. On call is usually quiet, and you will not be expected to tackle it by yourself until you are comfortable. Short-term accommodation is available while you find your feet.

If riding horses isn't your thing, the region has a lot to offer in terms of recreation.

Flights to and from Sydney can be provided twice yearly if needed. Work phone and car provided.

Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in New South Wales.
