Do you have a passion for ECC work? Join this ASAVA Accredited hospital in North Melbourne!
A position has become available for an experienced veterinarian to join a large and growing hospital in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.
This highly regarded practice offers employees a supportive environment and an interesting and varied caseload.
This position can be 100% ECC work only or a tailored blend of GP and ECC work if you want the best of both worlds!
The practice is committed to providing excellent pet health care available every hour of every day. Their services include general practice as well as after-hours emergency and hospital care. Trauma cases, FB’s, pericardial effusion, toxicities (especially snake envenomations), oncology and referral patients are considered routine. Both GP and ECC clinicians are supported by a canine medical specialist and visiting specialist surgeon.
The nursing staff are helpful, experienced, skilled and well-qualified. There are multiple nurses on during the day to provide backup and support.
The position can be full time or part-time hours. Ideally, you will be willing to work a mix of weekday day shifts, evenings and weekends.
The successful candidate will be compassionate with great customer service skills, have a solid GP grounding, and have the ability to work unsupervised. Experienced vets are available for mentoring and to discuss cases.
The hospital is very well equipped, with equipment including endoscopy, ultrasound, ventilators and radiology. An in-house IDEXX laboratory is available, but the practice also makes extensive use of veterinary pathology services. Clinics are computerised and networked to a central database using RxWorks.
The practice comprises a large central hospital, emergency centre, plus branch practices.
The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
The practice is located approximately 40 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD. It is located on a tram line and is within easy walking distance of local shops and cafes.
