An exciting opportunity has become available for a large animal vet to join the team at a practice in the Southland Region. The location is well-known for its rural heritage and picturesque surrounding scenery.

This is a full-time position that can offer variety, a great team environment, plenty of support and a good roster.

The practice provides an extensive range of veterinary services to dairy clients, as well as other production animals, working dogs and companion animals.

The salary offered is $110,000+ per annum, depending on experience. CPD is actively encouraged and the employer also makes a contribution to wellbeing activities (some people have bought ski passes with their portion, others join the gym or do a photography course!).

A relocation allowance is provided, veterinary registration paid and staff discounts applied for companion animals. A work vehicle, laptop and phone are provided, plus six weeks of accommodation provided on arrival (if relocating). Plus, there is plenty of 'food for good,' when on the go - fruit, nibbles, and snacks to keep you going!

In your new role, you will further develop as a veterinarian and gain experience by working on your own cases and having key clients. You will work with plenty of mentoring from other highly experienced veterinarians. Over time, developing in the management space and learning all about the behind-the-scenes parts of a veterinary business is also an option if that is of interest to you.

No two days are the same at this practice, but the one remaining constant is the friendly team and smiling faces!

The clinic houses surgical operating rooms, modern dental machines, large treatment rooms, multiple consult rooms, x-ray machine, auto-processor, SA ultrasound set up, endoscope, Vetscan, Dopplers and pulse ox.

The area is rich in wildlife, art and history, with plenty of character and a warm and friendly atmosphere. There is an excellent range of shops, lively bars and restaurants.
