A driven and experienced veterinarian is required to take on the role of Clinical Director at a busy first-opinion small animal and equine practice in the Channel Islands.
The practice is planning to open a large new facility in 2025/2026, which will be an exciting project to be involved in.
The employers are seeking an individual who is looking to settle and make the island their home. This position might also suit a couple as the practice is willing to accommodate flexible working for a Clinical Director’s partner. Temporary rental accommodation may be available during the initial settling-in period.
This will primarily be a clinical role involving a four-day week, with time allocated for managerial work. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the business, making decisions on strategy and the progression of the practice, as well as handling day-to-day queries from all areas of the practice.
This role enables an experienced veterinarian to have a say in how the practice is run and contribute to the development of our clinical services, as well as shaping the team. There will be the option to choose a specific area of the business in which you may have a greater interest and take responsibility for it.
As the practice is about to embark on a new hospital project, there will be a requirement for the Clinical Directors to be involved in the specifics of the planning for this, as well as potentially overseeing some of the local elements of the building project. You will liaise with the BDD and senior management team on a regular basis, and you will have the opportunity to give feedback on both clinical and managerial-related issues.
The practice is comprised of twelve vets, all of whom work to an extremely high standard to serve a discerning clientele. The practice is equipped with all the necessary equipment to investigate and treat medical and surgical conditions, taking into account the geographical limitations for referral.
Several certificate holders are already working in the practice, and although having a certificate is not a requirement for this position, a special interest in an area of either medicine or surgery would be an advantage. A clear understanding of the financial management of a practice and the ambition to advance the business will be a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate can expect to earn a well above-average salary and benefit from the favourable taxation status of a Channel Island location compared to mainland UK.
The excellent range of benefits includes:
