A small animal vet is required to fill a 12-month maternity cover role at a privately owned practice in Surrey.
The position is to commence on the 1st of May 2025.
The employer is seeking a vet who has a keen interest and experience in ultrasound.
You will be joining a team of three full-time and one part-time vet who are supported by three vet nurses and four receptionists.
Vets at the practice typically work 33 hours per week, plus Saturday mornings on a 1 in 4 rota. Shifts alternate between a mix of consulting only and consulting and surgery.
The clinic is open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 7 pm and on Saturdays from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. Closed on Sundays. Consulting hours on weekdays are 9 am to 11:30 am, 2 pm to 3 pm and 4 pm to 7 pm, and on Saturday mornings, 9 am to 11:30 am. There are no OOH requirements as the practice uses a nearby 24-hour emergency clinic.
Equipment at the practice includes Vetair dental machine, Idexx catalyst and Sedivue, ultrasound and digital x-ray.
Accommodation is available if required. This is a three-bedroom flat above the surgery, which is shared with a vet nurse.
The remuneration package is £55,000 to £60,000 (depending on experience) and includes free accommodation, and all utility bills paid for. VDS and RCVS membership is paid by the practice.
Holidays are 5 weeks (20 days) plus 8 bank holidays. If you would like to take additional time off, this would be taken as unpaid leave.
The practice is located in an affluent county, only 30 minutes from London by car. The clinic is very close to large, beautiful parks, which are home to red and fallow deer. It is close to Heathrow and Gatwick, with easy access to Central London.
